Implements a two-stage verification pipeline using Haystack: dense retrieval with asymmetric semantic search (FAISS + sentence-transformers) retrieves candidate passages, then a DeBERTa-based NLI model scores entailment/contradiction between passages and claims with weighted aggregation. Optionally uses Flan-T5 as an LLM explainer to generate reasoning when strong evidence is found, with a Streamlit web interface for interactive fact-checking demonstrations.
