OpenMOSS/MOSS
An open-source tool-augmented conversational language model from Fudan University
Trained on 700B tokens of high-quality bilingual Chinese-English text and code, MOSS uses instruction fine-tuning followed by preference model training to achieve multi-turn dialogue and safety capabilities. The plugin-augmented variant integrates external tools including search engines, text-to-image generation, calculators, and equation solvers through learned tool-calling behavior, enabling grounded responses beyond the base model's knowledge cutoff.
