Beancount MCP Server is an experimental implementation that utilizes the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable AI assistants to query and analyze Beancount ledger files using Beancount Query Language (BQL) and the beanquery tool.
Exposes BQL queries through MCP tools (`run_query`, `set_ledger_file`) and resources for table and account discovery, enabling Claude Desktop and other MCP-compatible AI assistants to interact with Beancount ledgers. Implements the MCP server specification for standardized communication between language models and financial data, with environment variable configuration for ledger file paths. Includes built-in privacy warnings since financial data may be transmitted to third-party LLM providers during queries.
