AI Manga Reader is a next-gen manga app powered by the MangaDex API, offering vast multi-language content and flexible reading modes. It uses AI-powered OCR to extract and translate text from manga pages, combined with AI-driven text-to-speech narration—letting you effortlessly read and listen to any chapter or page, anytime, anywhere.
Built with Next.js and onnxruntime-web, the app runs custom PaddleOCR models directly in-browser for text extraction and real-time translation overlays across 100+ languages without server processing. It integrates MangaDex API for content sourcing, TanStack Query for optimized data fetching, and ElevenLabs-style TTS with 20+ configurable voices, while maintaining local privacy through client-side OCR computation.
